All trains within Russia will operate according to 'MOSCOW TIME'. The following timetables show Moscow Time for trains within Russia. For an explanation of time zones go to the ZONE PAGE. You can then see the hours required to add to get local times.

The new fast train between Sta Petersburg and Helsinki.

The start of this high-speed service reduces the journey time between St. Petersburg and Helsinki from the current 6 hours 18 minutes to just over 3 hours 30 minutes. The shorter journey time is due to, modern trains, faster border procedures, and higher train speeds. The Allegro trains will be able to reach 200 km/h within Russian, and 220 km/h within Finland.
The Allegro trains are unique in that they are able to run on tracks powered by either direct current or alternating current. In addition they are equipped with both Russian and Finnish communications technology and dual train control systems. Keeps both sies happy! The trains can tilt by up to 8 degrees, which allows higher speeds around bends.
The trains have 344 seats, of which 296 are second-class and 48 are first-class. During the journey, passengers will be able to change money and obtain VAT rebates with tax-free receipts. All carriages are non-smoking.

There are seats for physically impaired passengers and facilities for passengers with pets. Each train has a children’s play area, a restaurant carriage and conference areas.
